Annual Appeal Our Annual Appeal supports a variety of fabulous programs for which the Foundation and Art Center are well-known: Family Days, our Children's Fine Arts program, the Adult Studios and their classes, our Volunteer program, and more. Project Look! In a time of dramatically reduced school resources for art education, Project LOOK! fills the gap. Elementary-age schoolchildren come to the Art Center and are led through one of our professionally-curated exhibitions by a docent who explains what the artworks are and how they were made. The students then go straight into the studio to create a project inspired by the art they have just encountered. They leave with a new understanding of how professional artists work and their own art creation. Capital Campaign The Palo Alto Art Center Foundation is embarking on a $6.5 million capital campaign to renovate its facility. Be a part of our next great art creation - the Art Center itself. The Carrie Abramovitz Scholarship Fund The Carrie Abramovitz Scholarship Fund is open to high school students who have demonstrated outstanding artistic ability. Each scholarship recipient follows an individually designed course of study working with a professional artist mentor at the Art Center. The fund was established in memory of Carrie Abramovitz, an artist and long-time resident of Palo Alto. Cultural Kaleidoscope Professional artists, teachers and schoolchildren from Palo Alto and East Palo Alto come together to create new bonds of understanding. The catalyst is an intensive art project. The outcome is a new appreciation of differences and a pride in completing and exhibiting their finished work. Exhibitions Our exhibitions are nationally recognized, professionally-curated, and consistently critically acclaimed. Our reputation is based on the alchemic abilities of our visionary curator - Signe Mayfield. |
